The LoDo Cares Holiday Project
To celebrate the holiday season, members of the Lower Downtown Neighborhood Association (LoDoNA) and LoDo District, Inc. are joining together for the 13th Annual LoDo Cares Holiday Project. Residents and businesses in LoDo and the Central Platte Valley will work together to bring cheer and assistance to our less fortunate neighbors.
Barth Hotel: Donation boxes will be placed in LoDo and Central Platte Valley residential buildings and in LoDo businesses. Boxes will be dropped off Thursday, December 1 and picked up Tuesday morning December 13. Some of the needed items include: rice, tuna, canned meat/chicken, pasta and sauces, boxed dry meals, and baby food.
Bienvenidos Food Bank: Homeless men, women and children will receive bags filled with personal care items such as shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes and combs, along with socks, gloves, and hats. The employees of Van Gilder Insurance Co. will lead the project. Colorado Coalition for the Homeless: Homeless and at-risk teenagers at these shelters will receive backpacks and Target gift cards that can be used for necessities.
Denver Rescue Mission: To help the Mission service its clients, bags of canned fruits, vegetables, soup, tuna, cereal, peanut butter, instant potatoes, stuffing mix, macaroni and cheese, among other non-perishable items, are needed. The residents of Waterside Lofts Community Group will lead this project.
If you would like, you can make a donation with a personal check, payable to Lower Downtown Neighborhood Association and earmarked for the Holiday Project, to: LoDoNA • 1720 Wynkoop Street, #100 • Denver, CO 80202.
