PHILANTHROPY

Interested in fundraising? Encouraging urban youths? Supporting the arts?

The Downtown Philanthropic Task is for you! In a joint effort with The Downtown Denver Residents Organization, LoDoNA has developed a task force for philanthropic endeavors.  The organizations that we will focus our attention on are in and around LoDo and are comprised of those benefitting children, the arts, senior care and the homeless.  We are always interested in hearing about different organizations that could use our support!

If you would like to know more about our future plans, offer any suggestions or join in our efforts, please feel free to contact Christine Santucci at tuccico@yahoo.com.

Please donate to the Holiday Project by clicking here. We work with a service called Blacktie Colorado for secure processing. Or you can mail your check, payable to Lower Downtown Neighborhood Association and earmarked for the Holiday Project, to: LoDoNA • 1720 Wynkoop Street, #100 • Denver, CO 80202

Lower Downtown Neighborhood Association annual Holiday Project

Residents and businesses in Lower Downtown (LoDo) and the Central Platte Valley are banding together for the tenth year to help bring some cheer to the less fortunate among us during this holiday season. Projects benefit: The Barth Hotel, the Bienvenidos Food Bank, Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, Family Homestead, North High School, and Urban Peak Shelter. Volunteers are needed for each project ... and more than $12,000.00 is necessary to fund these worthwhile projects. We hope that you will join us in this neighborhood effort to benefit the needy - by volunteering your time, donating money, or both. Please make a tax deductible contribution EITHER online or Mail check to: LoDoNA Holiday Project 1720 Wynkoop St., #100 Denver CO 80202

Other projects for this year are:

Canned Food Drive for the Bienvenidos Food Bank. Boxes for residents’ donations of non-perishable foods and gently-read children’s books will be placed in all loft and highrise lobbies or common areas.

Essentials for North High School Teenagers. Despite having bright minds with great potential, some North High School teenagers are struggling and living in homeless shelters with holiday wish lists for items such as “a warm blanket” or “an alarm clock.”

Personal Care Kits for The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. Homeless women and children will receive kits filled with personal hygiene necessities as well as hats, gloves and socks.

Urban Peak. Homeless and at-risk teenagers in the Urban Peak shelter will be supported in their efforts to get their lives together with gifts of backpacks and movie passes.

Angel Tree Book Drive. Stop by The Tattered Cover and participate in the book drive to benefit Family Star’s Early Head Start program! Starting Thanksgiving and running through the end of the year.

Committees are being formed and volunteers are needed. Please participate and invite your friends and neighbors to join in! Financial contributions are also crucial to achieving the 2008 Holiday Project goals.

LoDo and CPV residents and businesses – This year if you are having a Holiday Party, why not ask your guests or clients to bring “bulk” personal care items to donate to the CCH?
